A night in the tent with lots of snow!

We got a lot of snow. The big fluffy flakes were beautiful! The pine trees are covered and drooping from the weight. All the bare branches are covered, making the woods very quiet except for the few big plops of falling snow. I wish the moon would come out brighter so the snow would sparkle. I love those clear, cold, crisp nights -- usually from the inside, though! :)

I'm surely not a pro at winter camping, but I got the tent set up, and both me and my mom got in with our sleeping bags and tried it out. Wasn't bad at all, actually. I slept warm and sound all night in my 5-degree sleeping bag. Mom's got a 15-degree bag, and she said she got a couple of small chills, but considering it got down to 16 degrees, she says she did really well.

We didn't get our walk in today, and since tomorrow is an errand-running day, we're gonna shoot for a walk tomorrow afternoon. We might snooze in the tent again tonight -- pushing our luck with a lower temp and higher winds. Feels like home in that sleeping bag, though. I LOVE it!
