Wrong Turn

5-12-06

Start: Ladue, MO

Destination: Katy Trail, MO

Miles: 17.4

Weather: Sunny and Windy

Did we seriously make that wrong turn? Yeah, so I did a dummy today - took a wrong turn, didn't think - but - we ended up going to Old St. Charles, and that was really cool. And Margie picked us up and will drop us off tomorrow where we went left instead of right, so we won't have to backtrack, at least.

Our morning was uneventful. We walked past some huge houses again, and were soon in an area with a Taco Bell, and we couldn't pass it up. Mom was craving a burrito supreme, so that was our lunch.

We crossed the Missouri River, and Channel 11 met us for an interview. That was cool. And we just kept walking. Turns out we should've walked the other way. Oh well, it doesn't put us back much.

Tomorrow we're on our own again. We're about an hour drive from Aunt Margie's house, so we have to continue on. It sure has been nice being so spoiled. BIG, BIG THANKS to Aunt Margie, Uncle Craig, John, Lace, and Grandma for all the trail magic!

We have a volunteer support vehicle starting Sunday. Dick is a family friend from Phillips, WI, where my parents live and I grew up. So that is going to be very excellent. I believe he will be with us for about 30 days. What a HUGE help that'll be!

Off to bed- gotta get up early tomorrow!

Old St. Charles is worth a side trip (I used to live near Wentzville, about 5 miles from there). Keep on truckin'.
