Grandma made pancakes this morning for us for breakfast, and they were GOOD! Then Ba-ha Grandpa and Gopher Mary brought us out to our marker where we left off yesterday. We hiked pretty fast and swung into a convenience store built into the hill - it was neat. And the lady working in there bought our frappacinnos for us. Ba-ha, Gopher and Grandma were in there earlier and told her about us. She was excited to meet us. Later in the day we had a guy come out from his roadside bakery/cafe and hand us each a really sweet, juicy peach, too - Gopher and Ba-ha told him about us, too!
Mom saw a rock shop and HAD to stop in to see what they had. Guess what they had in there?! Petrified dinosaur feces! Mom bought a chunk, and ever since has been looking for poo along the road - petrified only, of course - it doesn't smell that way, thank goodness! So that's the new thing to do - hunt for dino dung.
We just got done eating dinner (totally off subject from the dung, I know...). We had a massive fish story mix-up. My Aunt Karen (MN Seester) and her fiancé Rob (Shopping Buddy) caught the fish. But when Karen first mentioned catching the fish when she signed our feedback, she must have mistakenly called herself the WI seester. So we were confused and thought the fish came from both WI and MN, caught by both seesters. Then we thought we had it figured out - all the fish was caught by MN Seester and Shopping Buddy, so the fish was caught in MN. Then we were again corrected. MN and WI fish. And then finally, my dad said that Shopping Buddy informed him that ALL the fish was caught in WI by MN Seester and himself. Ahhh, okay. Well, Grandma fixed it up with some potatoes and was it ever yummy! So we ate WI crispy critters for dinner. Thanks for the fish, WI fishers from MN!
So now, once again, chef granny has managed to stuff our bellies (oh, yeah, we're braggin'!) and we're getting settled for bed. Ba-ha and Chef Granny are tucked away in the back of the RV in their bed, mom and I on the sofa bed, and Gopher Mary is in the corner on the floor, by the door in what we call the "Gopher Hole." What a sweetie for giving up the sofa bed. :)
Tomorrow Scott from the visitor's center (and his truck), along with Ba-ha and Gopher are going to drop us water so we can hike the next two-day stretch into Antimony. Another excellent trail angel! Mom and I will be hiking our booties off to get to Torrey. It'll be a scenic, fun walk, though! We're still a-truckin' right along!
