Weather: Again, wonderful! No jacket or fleece even needed on the ferry ride!
We slept great last night. Then we hiked along College Ave, which was really fun. We hiked through Berkeley campus yesterday afternoon right after the Cal Bears game let out - they won in OT! We were offered a beer twice! Anyway, campus was pretty quiet on a Sunday morning after a big win for the football team. But it was still a great atmosphere. It made me think of college days hanging out with Scott, Sarah, Sarah, and the whole FA crew!
So we ended up in Oakland, waiting for the ferry to cross the bay. It was a pretty ride. Sailboats, kayaks, and other huge boats were slowly wandering around the bay as we went through. We got to San Francisco, and there was so much hustle and bustle. We had fun just watching all the different people.
Today engulfed us with overwhelming excitement to the point of burning us out early. We grabbed lunch and coffee and then hiked towards Chinatown where there was a hostel we were referred to. We checked in, we took a nap, then went to dinner next door, which in the daylight looked not-too-fancy. It looked nice, but sort of casual. So we went in in our shorts and Crocs and ordered. The darker it got outside, the fancier it seemed to get. Candles, white cloth napkins, blues music (live!), wine... but we just giggled and enjoyed our one night in San Francisco. Tomorrow we will cross the Golden Gate Bridge. Yeesh.
We are so anxious, especially having no idea what the end is going to be like - what it's going to feel like - anything.
